That's the question I pose to every single one of my non-Libera-fan-but-will-soon-become-one-I-swear friends. Sooner or later, on my word, Josh Madine will be known to the entire human race, and it's all I can do to help that happen : ). So if you know who Josh is, good! I'm proud of you! This page will probably be review, but that's ok. Can't get enough of this angel anyway.
But if you don't know who Josh is, don't be sad that you're a newbie. Acutally, be very, VERY excited because you haven't found anyone like Joshua Madine, and will never find anyone like Joshua Madine as long as you live. I can't really vouch for that with my ever-so-small amount of Josh experience years, but I know even when I'm 100 years old, I'll still have a picture of Josh Madine somwhere on the wall in my nursing home room. That is probably one of my long term goals in life :D
So, here we go! We are now entering the section of this blog that I like to call.....
THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO JOSH MADINE!
Josh Madine: (joh-shh mah-dee-nuh) Joshua Nathan Madine.
1) The world's best singer, Libera legend for years in the making.
2) Cutest thing ever invented
3) Has a smile that can knock out any problem or depression of the soul
4) Voice is comparable to -a cup of warm frappucino
- the soft, comforting sound of snow falling from the sky
5) has international fans and admirers that would rather get thrown into the Bermuda Triangle with their neck tied to a metal chain which is tied to an elephant than have Josh dissapear off the face of the earth(an exxageration)
Okay... that last one went a little too far, but at least you can sort of get the point. I hope.
Josh Madine is a miracle in many people's lives. In my opinion, it is his warm attitude and gentle smiles that have brought happiness to at least one person's day, every day. Some people say that Josh is an angel sent down from heaven. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. I guess we'll never know.
Do you understand the concept of Joshua Madine?
Okay, let's move on.
I just want to add a short, factual point. Josh is a guy, famous for his singing all throughout the world, currently is a member of the all-boy choir Libera based in South London in England. To most of us Madine Lovers, he is our superhero, but sometimes we forget that he's just a normal teen, with a normal life. Like you and me. I do all I can to stay out of this chapter of Josh's life. He does deserve his space. And a lot of it. I know how weird I would feel if every one of my fans knew everything I did, all the time. So please, take my advice and don't try to friend him on Facebook or on Twitter, or find out more about him than Libera puts out. Cus then you're not that much of a fan, and you're sort of turning into a stalker. So just don't do that.
As far as we know, Josh's singing career started with Libera, around the time when they went to Korea in 2005.
At around 0:33, you can see a little weeny Josh standing behind Sam Leggett. Cute, huh?
The young man singing the solo is also Josh. From a very early age, as you can see, he had a really good voice; that kind of reminds me of the lavender and pale peach colors at sunset.
Josh grew, and so did his singing capability. He went on to be a big part of Libera around his time, something I like to call the Furious Five Era. I mention it a lot, by the way. I just mean that there were five really great soloists in that Libera generation, including Ben Philipp(who also does a partial solo in this song.) Tom Cully(the little guy standing next to Josh. He has a lower voice), Josh Madine, Liam Connery(can't really see him in this video) and Sam Leggett. All of them were powerful soloists.
Anyway, here are some more videos of Josh's early years:
How Can I Keep From Singing. I've always been fond of this song, and I don't know why. Maybe cus it has a sort of Irish ring to it? Can you hear it too?
Orinoco Flow. My dad's favorite Libera song. And apparently Josh's too, from an interview he did when he was older. Josh does part of the song that goes "turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, up a doo"
Here is a sort of a space in Josh's life that I'm not familiar with. What happened to him from the Eternal Album to the Peace album, I have no way of saying. For some reason, Josh had this major growth spurt and... well, you look and see for yourself.
Here is the cover fot Eternal. Josh is the little man all the way on the right.
Looks like the Josh we know so far right?
After two years: this is the result.
Oh My Joshua Nathan Madine. Did you recognize the soloist with the deep voice? That, my friends, is the one and only Josh. I was so shocked. The transformation from little dude, to totally not little young man teenager was a big surprise. Not just for me, but also for all the other Josh fans worldwide. It was a moment of supreme bliss. His new deep voice was more lulling and mesmerising that ever before. It was also a sad moment because everyone knew that little boy Josh was gone. His Libera years were strarting to be numbered.
Much to our excitement, Josh had another solo on the regular peace album entitled Faithful Heart. A wedding song, it seemed to be. And it produced a peace that I can't describe. His new alto voice was so amazing. It took me a little while to get used to it.
Wow. Beautiful.
And if that wasn't enough, the Deluxe Album sent us another blessing. Lullabye was probably recorded a little earlier than the visual part of the music video. Josh's voice was a little more tender, and by tender, I mean high. Either way, this song put me to sleep many a night, and even to this day, it still does sometimes.
For the first time ever, Libera boys were wearing nightshirts in a music video. It was so cute!
But as gorgeous and calm as this song may seem, we have found a deeper meaning. This song also recreates the sadness of death and tragedy of war. It was like Libera was pouring out a wish of peace for the entire world.
Now, this is when people started to think that Josh had officially dropped out of Libera. Obviously, his song was a farewell to the world. It was definetely a sad time. Even I got discouraged. Things were even worse when Canada Tour 2011 time came, and Josh was not found on the list of singers. Everyone was anticipating Libera's official statement of Josh's retreat. However, our friend Liam Connery provided us a little bit of foreshadowing, if I can even call it that. He mentioned a few times that some of the boys had to stay home to do exams. This was a little "heart skipped a beat" moment for the fans. Was Josh one of them? Or was he really gone?
The answer to that question came along with Libera's single called Song of Life. It was a Ralph Skan solo, and a very very VERY heavenly song. I think it's even one of my favorites. (That's big for me because I like all the Libera songs, and I try not to pick favorites.) No one really expected anything big on Josh. But something did happen.
Notice at 1:53
Who was that?
Of course.
It was Josh.
Lucky all the windows and doors were closed at my house. I was literally screaming and jumping for joy. Libera cared enough to show us that Josh was indeed still a part of them. And that's why I appreciate Mr. Prizeman, He is a very nice man.
All the tension practically ended there. No one was worried anymore.
Like waking up into a beautiful dream, Josh also accompanied Libera(and his little bro Matt Madine) on the 2011 USA Tour. To know that I was going to be standing on the same ground as Josh was enough for me. He wasn't going anywhere yet.
Josh also went to the Philippines and got himself a bomb dropping solo in the all new Christmas Album.
What a shock.
Josh's time hasn't ended yet, so I will still be posting on this page to keep up with the current events. But everyone knows that someday, Josh will let his robe fall and embrace the world as an adult. His time in Libera will be up. Or will it?
My firm belief is that somehow, this won't be the end of Josh Madine. Somewhere along the road he'll end up going to a concert or tour to see his brother, or maybe he'll even help out with the sound systems or who knows what. Maybe he will even make some CD's of his own. Someday, Josh's face could be in the tabloids again everywhere. And when that day comes, I will be proud to stand up with everyone and say 'Hey, I know him. He's Josh Madine!"
And of course, someone in the crowd will say, "Who's Josh Madine?"
And with a smile, I'll ask them.
"What?! You don't know who Josh Madine is?!"
